How to make a Cartonnage box
Let's get started to make a box with the techniques of the Catonnage.

Following resipes are written in Japanese.
Making box with carton (cardboard)
【 STEP 1 】
Draw a plan on the cardboard.
Draw lines to shape the parts.
What you need:
・pencil
・ruler/ straight edge
・compas
【 STEP 2 】
Cut the cardboard arong the lines.
What you need:
・ruler/ straight edge
・skill nife/ utility nife
・inpenetable vinyl cutting mat
<Tips>
Cut a shallow ditch along with the lines firstly.
Then cut the shapes out.
【 STEP 3 】
Assemble the cardboard parts with the masking tape.
What you need:
・masking tape
・glue (as needed)
Sticking a piece of fabric on the box
【 STEP 4 】
Cut the fablic with 1.0~1.5cm margine.
What you need:
・sewing scissors/ dressmaker's scissors
・fabric
【 STEP 5 】
Stick a piece of fabric on the box with mixed glue.
What you need:
・mixed glue (rice glue and white glue)
・brush
【 STEP 6 】
Dry them under the weight in a well-ventilated place for a while .
It is needed to avoid warping.
What you need:
・weight (ex. bottled water, books, etc,,,)
・clip (as needed)
<Tips>
Put some paper under the clip to avoid depression mark by clip.
【 STEP 7 】
Surface with using waterproofing spray.
